Former NBA star Michael Kidd Gilchrist stopped by Hampton College right now and shared his story with households on the Peak Childhood Middle.
HAMPTON, Va. — Former NBA star Michael Kidd-Gilchrist visited Hampton College to share his story with households on the Peake Childhood Middle on Tuesday.
Kidd-Gilchrist mentioned he is stuttered his complete life and is now on a mission to extend entry to speech remedy.
“I do not know myself with out stuttering. In order a lot as I can say I do not, I do not prefer it, I recognize it now that I am older,” Kidd-Gilchrist mentioned.
Whereas visiting, he realized about Peake Childhood Middle’s program and what they do relating to speech remedy.
“Hampton College college students, they arrive to our heart twice per week in the course of the faculty semester. And they’re able to display all of our younger kids to see if they’ve a necessity for any help to enhance their speech and language,” a Peake Childhood Middle official mentioned.
Child Gilchrist Basis Change and Impression donated $10,000 to the Peak Childhood Middle to assist entry to speech remedy companies for kids who stutter in Hampton Roads.
