Russell ‘Russ’ C. Hastings ULSTER PARK- Russell ‘Russ’ C. Hastings, 57, of Ulster Park, died Wednesday, January 11, 2012, on the Benedictine Hospital, Kingston, after a heroic battle towards most cancers for 2 and a half years. Russ was a graduate of Massapequa Excessive Faculty, Class of 1972, and SUNY Oswego School, Class of 1976, with a level in Broadcast and Communications. After school, Russ labored numerous jobs, managing a number of eating places, tending bar and doing carpentry and odd jobs. On his fortieth birthday, Russ selected to make a profession change and went again to high school to develop into an Occupational Therapist. He attended Maria School, Albany, and graduated from Dominican School, Orangeburg, receiving his Bachelor of Science in Occupational Remedy on the age of 47, graduating on the prime of his class with a 4.0 GPA. Russ was employed by Kingston Metropolis Colleges, working primarily on the Kennedy Faculty and Edson Faculty as an Occupational Therapist for over 10 years. Russ loved spending time together with his household, carpentry and dealing round dwelling. He beloved the seashore, particularly taking his jeep on the seashore, tenting and fishing and he loved a very good glass of wine. Russ was born March 9, 1954, in Brooklyn and is survived by his loving household, his spouse, Georgia Hastings; they wed on July 25, 1986. His kids, Shaylyn A. Hastings and Travis W. Hastings, each of Ulster Park; mom, Marie Hastings; his sister, Diane F. Dobstaff and her husband Tom; and his niece and goddaughter, Katherine Berghahn, her husband Rick, and their kids Lucas and Ben. He was predeceased by his father, Charles Hastings. Entrusted to the care of the Eric Keyser, Keyser Funeral & Cremation Service, 216 Broadway, Port Ewen. The household will obtain their buddies on Saturday from 2 to 4 and 6 to eight pm. The memorial service will probably be at 8 p.m. The household suggests in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to American Most cancers Society, 121 Govt Drive, New Windsor, N.Y., 12553.
